The Russell County Board of Education was looking to strengthen their Arts & Humanities programs, expand their Physical Education Curriculum and increase their classroom space to accommodate recent growth in the district.  The Board of Education partnered with Branscum Construction to create a unique design that would tie together three diverse types of building pads and structures into one common facility.  This landmark project consists of approximately 64,000 square feet with 10 classrooms, a large capacity multi-purpose room, an auditorium that seats more than 700 guests, along with an exercise room and a natatorium which consists of an eight lane competition pool.  The new facility will provide multiple uses to this growing community and the school system.

The City of Corbin sought a facility that would bring both entertainment and promote economic development to this region of Kentucky.  The new arena was designed with traditional features while incorporating modern design and engineering.  The building is pre-engineered with several conventional steel components; the exterior uses a combination of split face block and architectural siding with an abundance of glass storefronts and an illuminated tower feature.  It consists of 132,000 square feet and has approximately 5,000 fixed seats and room for an additional 2,000 portable seats.  The Arena will be used for concerts, sporting events, tradeshows and various other types of entertainment.

Branscum Construction would like to formally thank everyone who worked on both of these projects.  This honor would not have been possible without the dedication of our valued subcontractors, architectural firms & the Branscum Construction staff.  We would like to express our gratitude to Superintendent Scott Pierce with the Russell County Board of Education.  As well as Mayor Willard McBurney & City Manager Bill Ed Cannon with the City of Corbin.  Thank You!
