Steve’s career started early by traveling with his father, the late Paul Branscum to numerous construction sites and commercial developments doing site excavation. In 1977, Steve became Vice President/Treasurer of Branscum Construction Company, starting the Building Division and becoming a Kentucky corporation. In 1983, he became sole owner, president, and chief executive officer of the corporation.

Since its incorporation 45 plus years ago, the company began concentrating on commercial, industrial and institutional building projects. Branscum Construction now manages between 20 to 40 major construction projects under various stages of design and construction on an annual basis.

With his leadership and progressive business style, Steve has built the company into one of the larger General Contracting, Construction Management and Design/Build companies within the state. Branscum Construction has also entered other market areas with the company contracting construction projects throughout the Mideast and Southeast regions of the United States.

Steve is also involved in other business ventures and projects throughout Kentucky and the Southeast, including Precision Erection & Rigging Company. He serves on the volunteer board of several major universities and economic development organizations.
