Branscum Construction Company, Inc. and the Lake Cumberland District Health Department held a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Thursday, August 27, 2009, for the new Russell County Health Department in Jamestown, KY. A large crowd was on hand for the event; including elected officials, board members of the LCDHD, associates of the Russell County Health Department and other members of the Russell County community.
The new 16,000 square foot facility will be located on Fruit of the Loom Drive on 7.5 acres and will provide the Russell County Health Department with much-needed room for all of the agencies that are housed in the current crowded facility. The new building is projected to take 10 months to complete.
The Site Package for the new Health Department will bid September 30th at 1:00 p.m. CST at the Russell County Court House, Circuit Court Room 410 in Jamestown, KY. While the remaining bid process for construction bid packages will be scheduled in a couple of weeks.
Branscum Construction is the Construction Manager on the project and Brandstetter Carroll, Inc. will serve as Architect. Mr. Jeff Cook is the Project Manager on this project and the Superintendent is TBD.
